The Brown Endangered Elephants

My name is Trevon. What are the biggest land animals? It’s not a hippopotamus. It’s not a blue whale. It’s an elephant! I’m going to tell you all about elephants and my other friends in my class will, too! The social issue I’m going to talk about land clearing and it’s sad. There are two ways that you can learn about elephants. One is the computer. Two is this essay. We got cool facts about elephants. Each day, an elephant can eat up to three hundred pounds and drink up to fifty gallons. A woman carries her baby for nine months but an elephant carries her baby for twenty two months! That’s almost 2 years! Elephants stand up day and night when there sleeping. Now let me tell you about the body of an elephant. Elephants have these teeth call tusks. The tusks are made out of ivory. Elephants have pads on their feet so they don’t make a lot of noise. Elephant’s flap their ears to make them cool. They also put mud on them to get them cool. Elephants have tough, thick and wrinkled skin. The wrinkled skin traps water which also is another way to make them cool. There are just so many things I love about elephants but there is something very sad that’s going to be in Chapter 3.

What I’m going to talk about is land clearing. This is an example of land clearing. When you make fire where elephants eat and they’re still there you might be killing the elephants. Now if elephant were lost from their home that is called habitat loss. But let me tell you why people kill elephants. People kill elephants because elephants steal things from a lot of houses. Some of the things that elephant stole are important like food. That is why people kill elephants. This is something else you need to learn. There are people out there who kill elephants and they are called poachers. Poachers kill elephants. They want to get elephants because they want to get elephant’s tusks. They want tusks because they sell ivory jewels at a store. They make a lot of money. Please don’t be like them. They are crazy people. They use machine guns to kill elephants. And that is all I have to say in chapter 3.

If you want to stop this land clearing and poachers killing elephants, you will need some help because you are not perfect. If poachers take a long time to wake up, you should steal their machine guns. But first you should get all the tusks and put them somewhere where poachers could never find them. And you should protect the elephants. Here in America, we should make signs that say “DON’T KILL THE ELEPHANTS!” and another sign is “THERE IS SOMETHING ELSE YOU CAN MAKE MONEY WITH!” You should call the news and ask them to report on these issues.

In conclusion, I hope you enjoyed my essay. I hope that you learned that one way to kill elephants is to make a fire but you shouldn’t do that because we love elephants. I hope that you learned that poachers kill elephants with machine guns. And last of all, I hope that you learned miraculously well about elephants.
